1. Всего в составе ИСО более 80 комитетов – членов.

2. Кроме комитетов – членов членств в ИСО может иметь статус членов - корреспондентов, которыми являются организации по стандартизации развивающихся стран.

3. Комитеты имеют право принимать участие в работе любого технического комитета ИСО, голосовать по проектам стандартов, избираться в состав совета ИСО и быть представленными на заседаниях Генеральной ассамблеи.

Unit 2

International Standards Organization.

QA management systems are summarized and defined in the ISO 9000 series of standards. There are three standards, but the two of most relevance to the fish processing industry are:

ISO 9001, Quality systems Model for quality assurance development, production, installation and servicing and ISO 9002, Quality systems Model for quality assurance in production and installation.

The second, which is a subset of the first, is applicable to processing plants producing-established products, the former to companies might develop new products. These ISO standards have been adopted by many countries, and are issued as national standards under the numbering system of the national standards body. For example, in Europe they have been is­sued in the EN 29000 series. The standards are designed with the relationship between supplier and customer in mind. For example, the scope of the ISO 9002 standard is to specify, to "quality systems requirements for use where a contract between two parties requires demonstration of a supplier's capability to control the processes that determine the acceptability of a product supplied". However, the principles can be extended without change to deal with safety and regulatory aspects as well. The regulator can be considered as one of the parties.
