6. ТЕRMS OF PAYMENT
Задание I. Прочитайте и переведите.
Payment for the goods to be delivered under the present Contract is to be effected in pounds sterling in accordance with the Trade Agreement between the Russian Government and the British Government dated the 20 " May 2001 by an irrevocable confirmed Letter of Credit to be opened by the Buyer for the total value of the goods ready for shipment with the Vnesheconombank (VEB) of Russia, Moscow, in favour of the Seller within 10 days of receipt of the Seller's notification of the readiness of the goods for shipment, valid for 45 days.
Should the Buyer fail to open the Letter of Credit in time, they are to pay the Seller a fine for each day of the delay, but nut more than for 20 days, at the rate of 0.1 per cent of the amount of the Letter of Credit and in that case the Seller shall have the right not to load the ship until the Letter of Credit has been opened. Should the delay in the opening of the Letter of Credit exceed 20 days, the Seller shall have the right to refuse to deliver the goods which were to be paid for out of this Letter of Credit. And in all the above cases demurrage and dead freight paid by the Seller in connection with the delay in the opening of the Letter of Credit are to be paid by the Buyer.
