Optical Wavelength Conversion Unit. STM-64 Transmitting Optical Wavelength Conversion Unit with FEC Function, страница 31

According to its module functions, MS2 board can be divided into 5 parts: the first part is the switch gating module, which performs gating of one of the two input optical paths to the optical analyzing module under the control of the micro control module; the second part is the optical analyzing module, which captures the optical signals with the wavelength selected by the control module; the third part is the detecting module, whose main function is to convert the optical signals to corresponding electrical signals and transmit them to the micro control module for processing; the fourth part is the control module, which converts the control parameters into voltage signals needed by the optical analyzing module, and which will make analysis on the input optical signals based on the voltage; the fifth part is the micro control module, which is the core part of the whole multi-channel processing unit, performing such operations as data processing, control parameter sending, communicating with mailbox, etc. SCC board sends the data reported by the multi-channel processing board to NM. Then on NM, spectrum, central wavelength and optical signal/noise ratio of the detected channel can be viewed.

2. Functions

n  MS2 provides online spectrum analysis function, while the online spectrum monitoring port is available on the optical multiplexer, demultiplxer, add/drop multiplexer and optical amplifier unit of OptiX BWS 320G system. With these monitoring ports, the dual directional supervising unit for multichannel can analyze the central wavelength value, corresponding optical power, and optical signal-noise ratio of each optical channel. In addition, this unit sends the power spectrum it has obtained from scanning to NM, which will display the power spectrum curve through the interface. This function greatly enhances the maintainability of the system.

n  Multi-channel processing unit MS2 can perform online analysis on the amount of running service channels and their corresponding carrier central wavelengths. When abnormal channel loss occurs in the system, or when a channel is added or the carrier central wavelength is offset, this unit will give alarm indication, reflecting the current system running condition in time.

n  Detected wavelength range: 1530~1562nm;

n  Optical power dynamic range of input signals: -40~-10dBm.

3. Application

n  The two optical ports "IN1" and "IN2" on MS2 handle bar are connected to the two paths of optical signals being monitored respectively. These signals may come from the "MON" port of M32, D32, MR2, WBA board, etc.

n  MS2 can be inserted in 1~13 board position of OptiX BWS 320G subrack.

n  The optical connector on MS2 board handle bar is of SC type.
