  1. Remove two bolts (149) from balance piston assembly (148). Use two bolts (149) to install Tooling (F) to balance piston assembly (148). Attach Tooling (F) to a suitable lifting device and a hoist.
  1. Use Tooling (F) and the hoist to position balance piston assembly (148), as shown. The weight of the assembly is (145) 113 kg (250 lb).
  1. Remove Tooling (F) .

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.

Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.

Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.

  1. Loosen the remaining four bolts (149) evenly. Loosen each of the bolts by one revolution before proceeding to the next bolt until the spring pressure has been released. Remove four bolts (149) from balance piston assembly (148) .
  1. Remove balance piston assembly (148) .

  1. Use Tooling (M) (not shown) to remove sleeve bearing (150) from balance piston assembly (148).
  1. Remove seal ring (151) .

  1. Remove 16 springs (152) from clutch piston (153) .

  1. Use two screwdrivers (not shown) to remove clutch piston (153) from clutch housing (145) .

  1. Remove seal ring (154) from clutch piston (153) .

  1. Use a screwdriver to remove retaining ring (155) from ring carrier assembly (144) .
  1. Remove seal ring (156) from clutch housing (145) .

  1. Install Tooling (F) to clutch housing (145). Attach Tooling (F) to a suitable lifting sling and a hoist.
  1. Use Tooling (F) and the hoist to remove clutch housing (145) and ball bearing (157) from ring carrier assembly (144) as a unit. The weight of clutch housing (145) and ball bearing (157) as a unit is 45 kg (100 lb).

  1. Position clutch housing (145), as shown.

  1. Remove two seal rings (160) from ring carrier assembly (144) .
  1. Remove seven bolts (161) and seal adapter (159) from manifold assembly (142) .
