  1. Install Tooling (F) to planetary carrier (55). Attach Tooling (F) to a suitable lifting device and a hoist.
  1. Use Tooling (F) and the hoist to remove planetary carrier (55). The weight of planetary carrier (55) is 79 kg (175 lb).

  1. Use a suitable drift to remove spring pin (56) from planetary carrier (55) .
  1. Remove planetary shaft (57), two thrust discs (58), gear (59), and two bearings (60) from planetary carrier (55) .
  1. Repeat Steps 41 and 42 for the remaining five gears.

  1. Install Tooling (F) onto ring gear (61). Attach Tooling (F) to a suitable lifting device and a hoist.
  1. Use Tooling (F) and the hoist to remove ring gear (61) from the clutch housing. The weight of ring gear (61) is 34 kg (75 lb).

  1. Use two screwdrivers (not shown) to remove clutch piston (62) from the clutch housing.

  1. Remove internal seal ring (63) and external seal ring (64) from clutch piston (62) .

  1. Install Tooling (G) to clutch housing (65). Attach Tooling (G) to a suitable lifting device and a hoist.

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force.

Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.

Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.

  1. Use Tooling (G) and the hoist to remove clutch housing (65). The weight of clutch housing (65) is 57 kg (125 lb).

Note: Mark the location of springs (66) and (67) for installation purposes.

  1. Remove six springs (66) from the clutch piston.
  1. Remove six springs (67) from the clutch plate.

  1. If necessary, remove 17 bolt dampers (68) from the clutch housing.
  1. If necessary, remove two balls (69) from the clutch housing.

  1. Remove five friction discs (70), and four clutch plates (71) from the clutch housing.

  1. Use Tool (J) to remove retaining ring (72) from ring gear assembly (73) .
  1. If necessary, remove four dowels (74) from ring gear assembly (73) .
