Different ways of comparison:

1. The objects are the same – as … as. Jill is as tall as Julie.

2. The objects are different – not as … as/ not so … as. This building is not as/ so tall as that tower.

3. To describe that something is increasing or decreasing – “Comparative degree” and “Comparative degree”. Girls are getting more and more beautiful. Things are becoming cheaper and cheaper.

4. To describe the relaions between the increase or decrease of two qualities – theComparative degree”, the“Comparative degree”. The more we learn, the better we study.

5. To intensify the comparative degree we use the words much/ many/ far/ a little/ a bit/ a great deal. The situation is far worse than we expected.

6. To show that something is several times larger, smaller etc., we use twice/tree times/ fifty times as … as. Your task is twice as big as mine.
