Basic Operations and Precautions. Basic Operations. Plugging/Unplugging Fiber Jumper. Plugging/Unplugging and Replacing Board, страница 3

If alarm signal is introduced into centralize alarm system, in case there is any alarm in equipment, the centralize alarm system will give out alarm ring. Press the push-button with obvious ring mute flag on the centralize alarm system, the alarm ring will be muted.

2.1.5 Resetting Board

There is a reset push-button RST on the handle bar of SCC board. Press this push-button, the SCC board will be reset, or, the board can be reset by plugging/unplugging SCC board. In case there is no person on duty in the equipment room, SCC board can be reset by NM.

Other boards can all be reset forcedly by NM or by plugging/unplugging board.

& Note:

Resetting board is a dangerous operation, unless under special conditions, it is not allowed to reset board; if the resetting operation is required actually, please perform the operation after confirming it by asking the engineer of Huawei Company.

2.1.6 Cleaning Fan

The dust screen of fan has a handle and is easy to draw out. Take the dust screen of fan outdoors and wash it clean, then mop it and have it blown to dry at the ventilation place. After the cleaning task is completed, plug the dust screen back to the original position, and push the dust screen gently along the slide-in guide path at the bottom of subrack, while forced pushing is prohibited.

2.1.7 Using Orderwire Phone

The plug of orderwire phone is generally plugged in the PHONE1 interface in the subrack wiring area of OptiX BWS 320G system.

Make sure the ring switch (on the left of telephone) of orderwire phone is set to ON, to avoid the situation that the telephone set does not ring when there is an orderwire phone dialing in. The dialing up mode switch of telephone set should be set to T, i.e., selecting DTMF dial-up mode.

The method of dialing up: pick the orderwire phone up, press the green TALK push-button on the front of the telephone set, the red indicator at the upper-right part of the front of telephone set is On and there is dialing up tone. In this case, the orderwire phone is in off-hook state and can be used to dial up.

The method of answering a call: when the orderwire phone set rings (meanwhile a red indicator flashes at the back of the telephone set), pick the orderwire phone up, press the TALK push-button to make a conversation.

After the conversation, press the TALK push-button of the orderwire phone set again to turn off the indicator at the upper-right part of the telephone set, so as to avoid the situation that the later orderwire phone calls can not be dialed in since the orderwire phone set is always in off-hook state.

2.1.8 Illustration of the Label on Optical Fiber

For the proper connection and convenient of later maintenance, we must label the ends of fiber.

The content of fiber in home station is described as table 2-1.

Table 2-1 The content of fiber in home station

Content of label

Meaning

Remark

U/D-A-B-C

U: upper subrack; D: lower subrack

A: board position number

B: board name

C: the port that is connected with the optical fiber

Example:

“D8 TWC OUT” on one side of a label means that the local end of the optical fiber is connected with the OUT interface of TWC board at the eighth slot of the lower subrack of the cabinet.

2.1.9 Test of Receiving/Transmitting Optical Power

1. Test of transmitting optical power

As illustrated in Figure 2-4, connect optical power meter with transmitting optical port of optical interface board, the testing operations are as follows:

(1) Set the optical power meter to the wavelength to be tested (the optical power meter can measure the optical power of G.692 signal with employment of 1550nm window).

(2) Select the fiber jumper connecting to the OUT interface of the optical interface board in home station.

(3) Connect the other end of this fiber jumper with the test input port of the optical power meter, wait till the receiving optical power is stable, read the optical power value, i.e., the transmitting optical power of this optical interface board.
