A CONCEPT OF A DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEM “diDRIVE. AN AUTOMOBILE ON A HANDPALM

Abstract-The achievements in the field of a science, technics and high technologies, using new materials and intellectual methods, car systems improving, development of new control systems, new design decisions are applied in modern motor-car constructions and define much its future and ways of development.

The development and application of automobile onboard computer control systems as well as innovations in car control systems and car-driver dialogue defined a direction of development of automobile microprocessor control systems in the future. These systems became an integral part of a modern car, the major stage of its development and intellectual-technical perfection.

A modern car has an onboard computer network (see figure) which includes subnets of operating its systems and provides: automatic and automated operating systems of a car, an interface between the driver and the automated systems by means of control conditions: a touch display, a controller, keys and switches, diagnostics of control units, a software and a technical serviceability of car units.

I would like to present my own concept of a new intellectual automobile system “diDrive. An automobile on a handpalm".

The concept of system “diDrive” is a concept of a microprocessor system of remote radio-and satellite control of car systems, remote access to functions of onboard system menu and control of a part of the automated control systems of the car by means of a special remote control panel with a support of protocols of radio and satellite networks.

System “diDrive” provides a control of technical and physical condition and getting full information of car equipment. The diagnostic system gives information about serviceability of its systems, software activity; the alarm system gives information in real-time mode to the control panel display in case of stealing, replacing the car, opening doors, the system of navigation transmits coordinates of physical position of a driver in space which is displayed on a navigation chart of a display of the control panel. As a whole this is addition of the onboard system and a new level in dialogue between a driver and a car.

The interface of the menu of a control system is displayed on a liquid-crystal touch display of the control panel which is located on a palm of a hand and gives the second name to the system.

1. INTRODUCTION

A hardware and a software of the microprocessor system include:

¾ the remote control panel with radio- and satellite control (type PDA with the touch liquid crystal display) with the software (operational system and appendixes - programmes of control), a converter of signals, a module of radiocontrol (a transceiver), built in control panel GPS transceiver, a transmitter of a signal of satellite control, and also built in control panel electronic key-identifier of the owner (microchip); a support with a power supply socket from an onboard system of power supplies, placed on the panel of devices.

¾ a hardware and a software of the car - additional to onboard system: a transceiver of radio signals, a transceiver of a signal of Global Positioning System (GPS), a transceiver of a signal of the satellite control and a special-purpose equipment with functions of operating signals accepting, their processing, analysis, redirection on buses of communication to corresponding objects of control (the special-purpose equipment of logic signal control, on figure SPELSC) and transfers of the information on the control panel diDrive.

The graphic interface of a user of systems with function of subconscious control is based on an objective -  focused programming and displays figure at inclusion of systems (a greeting of the owner, input a password for system activation), a menu and a submenus of systems, pictograms, a function keys, a text and images.

The main menu duplicates basic functions of the onboard computer menu: climate control, access to navigation system, installation of parameters, preparation of systems of entertainment (radio, CD, DVD), a system of a communications (phone, a telephone directory, access to the Internet).

An additional function of control of opening-closing doors, luggage carrier, cowl, roof (for a cabriolet) of the car (on figure - subsystems CUDD, CUPD, CUPLD, CURPD, CULC, CUC, CUCR), becomes active, when the owner is near the car: on the touch display of the control panel keys of control with inscriptions of the corresponding objects of control are displayed.

All the submenus are logically connected with the basic menu of the system, they are simple and easy to understand that simplifies a memorization, a reproduction in memory and control.

An algorithm of a functioning of the system. All actions are based on a touch to the touch display that facilitates control of the systems of a car in motionless condition and also during its movement.

The touch to the touch display with a finger of a hand for activation of an internal command or function (a navigation in the menu, the installation of parameters, a programming of complex commands) is transformed and executed by operational system (control system); and the external command is protected by the control programme and by means of the hardware and the software is transmitted to the corresponding equipment of the car. A control signal for one of the automated control systems of the car acts to the module of the transceiver in the car where is deciphered, analyzed and sent to corresponding system the electronic block of which makes active a necessary program of control.
