C.2  Specification of Electrical Interface

C.2.1  Signal Rate Tolerance of the Output Interface

Signal rate tolerance of the output interface refers to the deviation between the standard rate and the rate detected during AIS outputting. Table C-13 shows the index of the signal rate tolerance.

C.2.2  Allowed Attenuation of Input Interface

The cable connected to the equipments has attenuation, which complies with  attenuation principle, in a certain extent. The inputer interface should be able to access attenuated signals. Table C-14 shows the index of the input interface attenuation allowed by OptiX OSN 9500.

C.2.3  Allowed Frequency Deviation of Input Interface

Allowed frequency deviation of input interface refers to the maximum signal rate deviation allowed by the digital input interface. Table C-15 shows the index of the frequency deviation allowed by OptiX OSN 9500.

C.3  Timing and Synchronization Indices

C.3.1  Output Jitter

The output jitter refers to the output jitter value of the OptiX 9500 OSN in the absence of input jitter. The indices for output jitter are shown in Table C-16.

C.3.2  Output Frequency Precision of Internal Oscillator in Free-Run Mode

Indices of output frequency refer to, at any time, the output frequency precision of the equipment internal clock in free-run mode. The frequency precision indices of the OptiX OSN 9500 internal clock are in line with relevant requirements, as shown in Table C-17.

C.3.3  Long-Term Phase Change (in Locked Mode)

Long-term phase change refers to the slow offset of the output signal of the master reference clock caused by factors such as temperature and aging, usually represented by maximum time interval error (MTIE) and timing deviations (TDEV).The indices of the long-term phase change for the OptiX OSN 9500 are in line with relevant requirements, as shown in Table C-18 and Table C-19.
