OptiX Metro 500 supports multiple network topologies, including point-to-point, line and ring. Meanwhile, it suppprts unidirectional/bidirectional path protection and linear Multiplex Section Protection.
4 Network Management System (NMS)
The OptiX iManager T2000 performs unified Operation, Administration and Management (OAM) on the OptiX Metro 500, and achieves the configuration and grooming of circuits for a secure network operation.
5 Power monitoring function
5.1 OptiX Metro 500 I
With -48V DC power supply, it provides two-channel -48V power supply port, backing up each other. Meanwhile, the two internal power modules back up each other, providing alarm of power module invalid. In addition, it can monitor input under-voltage and over-voltage, and generate alarm.
With +24V DC power supply, it provides two-channel +24V power supply port, backing up each other. Meanwhile, the two internal power modules back up each other, providing alarm of power module invalid. In addition, it can monitor input under-voltage and over-voltage, and generate alarm.
With 220V AC power supply, the two internal power modules back up each other. And it may provide alarm of power module invalid.
5.2 OptiX Metro 500 II
The OptiX Metro 500 II provides storage battery. If 220V AC is in normal working, the storage battery is charged. If 220V AC is powered off, the storage battery is discharged, ensuring the OptiX Metro 500 II to work normally.
And it provides under-voltage protection function for the storage battery.
STM-1/STM-4 Optical Transmission System
Overview
OptiX 155/622 (METRO 2050) features modular design, abundant configurations and flexible access capacities and protection modes. OptiX 155/622, the STM-1/STM-4 compatible optical transmission system equipment, adopts SDXC (synchronous digital hierarchy cross connection) design conception to meet the STM-4 level final capacity demands. OptiX 155/622 features an excellent and perfect digital cross-connect function, provides convenient capacity and bandwidth management over the transmission network, and supports various complex network topologies and various network protection functions. In addition to abundant PDH and SDH interfaces, OptiX 155/622 also provides tone and data interfaces and 10Mbps/100Mbps Ethernet interfaces. Facing the demands in the construction of more and more complex local networks and edge networks and the transmission demands of increasing services such as GSM base station, data and image, OptiX 155/622 has proved its great advantages. The position of OptiX 155/622 in the whole network solution is shown in the figure.
Features
Developed with SDXC design conception, OptiX 155/622 optical transmission equipment has the cross connection capability of 24x24 VC-4s at VC-4/VC-3/VC-12 level. So all the VC-12s or VC-3s or VC-4s in the 24 VC-4s can be freely dispatched to any directions such as the line or tributary.
OptiX 155/622 optical transmission equipment supports STM-4 optical interfaces or STM-1 optical(electrical) interfaces, or partial combination of them, and they can be flexibly configured as ADM, TM or REG. Protecting relationship of these systems such as 1+1 and 1:1 can also be created. In this way, the capability of the equipment to support the complex network is greatly enhanced.
With the powerful cross-connect function, multiple ADM integration and compatibility design conception, OptiX 155/622 ensures the flexible equipment networking capability. For example, it can be used to form point-to-point, line, tree, ring and mesh networks, and supports various complex network topologies such as two tangent rings, multiple intersected rings and ring with chain.
OptiX 155/622 optical transmission equipment provides powerful protection functions at both the equipment level and the network level, thus enhancing the system reliability. The equipment level protections include the 1+1 hot backup protection for the cross-connection units and clock units, the 1:N protection for the tributary units and the 1+1 or 1:1 protection for the optical interface units. The network level protections include the 1+1 and 1:1 multiplexing section protection for the line link, the two-fiber multiplex section shared protection for a ring network, and the sub-network connection protection (SNCP) for any network type. In multiplexing section protection, extra service transmission
