Travelling
How would you describe the world around you? I’m sure there are a lot of epithets that can be applied to it. Learning its diversity is exciting indeed. The most pleasant and widespread way of getting acquainted with the life surrounding us is travel.
For centuries travelling has been considered the main means of broadening one’s mind. Already by the ancient times people had realized all the various merits of travelling. According to St. Augustin The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page. I can’t agree more with this quote. This tremendous book has been read both for pleasure and one’s own personal development. Travelling for me is not only the perfect way of enjoying oneself or escaping from daily routing and lazing around the beach but also an opportunity to see the common things from a different value. As everything is realized in comparison traveling is unique in a special way as a man can either learn how to make his\her on country better or to be aware how good the motherland is.
Given a free choice of spending a bunch of money I’d go on a trip around the world. Elaborating the route would be dramatically difficult for me as there are really lots of places I’d like to encounter.
Once I’ve been to The Netherlands and I was impressed by this place. Holland merits a visit due to its unsurpassed architecture which seems to maintain a 400 year old spirit and looks like no time has passed since then. Undoubtedly one of the jewels of Europe, and not just because of the stunning 17th century canals. Apart from the closeness to the past, there are lots of things appealing to me in this country. If you want to see the Dutch tulip fields in bloom, you should visit Holland in April and May. It’s hard to describe the Dutch culture in a few words. It’s better to experience it.
Magnificent landscapes and unsurpassed picturesque scenery. What view does this sentence arouse in your mind? As for me it’s New Zealand, the country of unique nature which I’d like to visit.
Japan. The Eastern philosophy could be hard to recognize for a western man but I’d like try to do that. In my point of view it can’t be done better anywhere but in Japan. The country had been isolated for many centuries therefore it dramatically affected its dwellers. So the Japanese have the views and values which may hardly be compared with ours. Their life style is completely different from ours so I’m concerned this places definitely merits a visit.
But I’m sure every place on earth is fascinating to some extent, so I’d delighted to head practically for everywhere.
My parents are the most vivid example of people disliking travelling for many reasons. Occasionally I ask myself if I will be like them in some 30 years. Ad I do hope the answer is no because I believe the way a person has a rest is an eloquent clue to his\her personality. I also believe that travelling enriches our outlook. And as long as one has the passion for developing themselves they will be eager to travel. If one day I become too rational and instead of going to the middle of nowhere to chill out and choose a new cutting edge gadget this will be one of the saddest days of my life.
Another virtue of travelling escaping from the surroundings one is used to and meeting new people, see new places and hence regaining the vital life energy.
At least for these reasons people need to travel and thus I consider travelling a great merit.
