City and Country life
To start with it’s great if you have a real choice where to live: either in the countryside, or in a city. Both options have pros as well as contras. But let’s find out which is the best.
First of all, consider your health. Living in the country seems to be a bit more beneficial due to fresh air, lack of city stress and other minor factors. It provides you with plenty of possibilities like sunbathing and swimming in the lake, going to the forest for mushrooms and berries, whereas city life is full of environmental factors which often result in diseases.
Then make sure the place you’re going to live in is really convenient for it. I mean the shops, schools, your place of work and dozens of things a person requires should be at hand. And if you’ll have to waste a lot of time on your way to work and back home, the advantages of living in the country will turn into disadvantages because of the stress it would cause. Moreover, by living there you deprive yourself of many possibilities a city offers. I mean the places to go out, possibilities for hobbies and other entertainments. The score is 1-1 yet.
Definitely the level of medical treatment in a city exceeds that of a village, and it’s a huge advantage of the first. In a case of emergency this factor, which might seem for some people unimportant can become crucial. Furthermore, the level of education one can get in a village is lesser than that of a city. In the present world it’s important, isn’t it? Consequently, there is much less opportunities for making a successful career in the countryside. Furthermore, as for this country, the folk earn less money in a village and are expected to live less as well due to physical toil. All in all, you just need to like living in the country, because despite all the above-mentioned I know there are some cases when people move from a city to a village and have a happy life there.
A lot more effort is required to provide your country house with all the conveniences comparing to those of a city flat. Nevertheless, it’s a matter of money only.
There are much more people in a city, which means a lot of contacts. On the one hand you shouldn’t feel lonely in a city, but on the other hand you have to deal with the same people in overcrowded means of transport, for example. However much or less, living in the country separates you from the outside world a bit.
The point of beauty is a doubtful one. I recon both a big city and a countryside nature have something attractive which appeals to me. But probably because I’ve lived all my entire life in the city, I would prefer a city here. For sure, country side dwellers would disagree with me.
I think the more developed a country is, the more people live in cities there. So it’s up to everybody where to live. The disadvantages I’ve mentioned can be nullified by a car or big amounts of money. In this case, to my mind countryside turns into a major option. As for me now, city seems a bit more convenient from almost every point which suggests that I’m satisfied I was born here in Minsk. Yet again, I’m not concerned about this issue.
