We now live at the age of information. We can’t live without it anymore, or at least feel very uncomfortable. The news are everywhere so we face them regardless of our desire. I assume that today we’ve become totally dependent on information and, sadly, immensely helpless when something goes wrong. So the accessibility of knowledge in a wide sense is very tricky. On the one hand we tend to be quite competent in a way too various spheres, but on the other hand this makes us vulnerable. Besides, we get knowledge not as eagerly as earlier.
Today acquiring information is the perfect tool of enriching one’s outlook. It helps a person understand other people and the world surrounding us better. As a matter of fact, knowledge can be referred to as an ultimate compilation of humankind’s experience. Therefore, as we acquire some data it results in a more sensible behavior and decisions. So no wonder that basic education is obligatory all over the globe.
Furthermore, it’s the most evident means of developing one’s mental abilities. After all, education helps a man quench thirst of knowledge and remain mentally alert. These two qualities, from my point of view, are indispensable for everyone who is determined to achieve something.
However, the primary reason for getting an education is that no successful career can be imagined without it. Well, there are several prominent examples of outstanding men who assume dropping out of college as one of the most influential decisions they ever made. Nevertheless, they are rather the exceptions to rule. Entering a university is a cornerstone for building up a proper career. Following this idea, a lot of pupils study hard to pass the exams and get enrolled to the university they’ve chosen. Basically, university is the upper stage of education. The way to success begins long before that.
Education in Blr is compulsory for every child. Starting from a primary school where the pivotal scientific subjects are taught. After graduating from the 9th form, a pupil is free to go in for vocational education. All the rest continue studying at school for 2 more years thus completing a school course. Then, in order to be admitted to a higher educational establishment a school leaver has to pass a centralized testing in 3 subjects. Eventually, according the level of the academic attainment snowed at the test the best applicants are chosen to be enrolled to the University. This uneasy trial I managed to go through, so at present I’m lucky to be a student of the BSEU.
To be honest a year ago or so I got determined to radically change the line I was in. So I wondered what I’m cut out for and set entering this university as my primary target. (There is no university of a comparable prestige and specialization.) Hopefully, the BSEU is by right considered leading university in its field. So it was one and only that I was considering as my alma-matter-to-be. I hope to graduate from here in 4 years as a well-qualified specialist with some profound knowledge obtained here.
Anyhow, one’s knowledge and education are useless unless they’re put into practice. As for me, I try to mind this idea, as the world is pierced with excessive information, which does harm rather than use. In any case, knowledge in its wide sense opens our eyes wide open and lets perceive the world in all its stunning variety.
