Music is magnificent

The life we are used to would be completely different without any of the five senses we have. It has been scientifically proved that people fall into three categories according to the perception channel that influences them most. So arguably, about a third of all human is primarily connected with the world via sounds. So for most of people the sound is an integral part of the outer world, which makes it comprehensible and bright.

Music is smth that everyone on earth has heard. No doubt, it embraces an immense power. The musicians who compose piercing the soul melodies and touching lyrics are worldwide renowned stars. The music industry is immense. People have always liked great singing or enjoyable melodies. But what are the roots of this phenomenon?

I can hardly find a rational explanation. As for me, it is all about the beauty of music. As for me, I’m the type of person who is crazy about music. In fact, I can barely recall a day when haven’t listened to music. For me It’s both a background when you need to focus and the source of pleasure. Therefore, I appreciate music a lot. As tastes differ one can find a kind of music to their taste, but I believe all the genres have something in common.

So initially, music evolved from various simplest noises that surrounded our ancestors. We can only suppose what the first music was like, but with no doubt it wasn’t perplexed at all. Used as an accompaniment to ritual dances, that was the thing appealing to the human ear. So music became a kind of entertainment. Besides, it could set a rhythm for monotonous toil so the workers could get distracted from the annoying activity. So we can presume that the aims of music haven’t changed a lot. Even though that the musical instruments have become more and more obscure and a new trend – electronic music piercing all the other genres – has come in. So it’s not about one and only folk music anymore. Luckily, the huge variety of artists can cater for any taste.

What I do appeal about music is that it’s many-sided. The power of music is magnificent and the way it can affect one is amazing. We are used that our mood should be influence by some more or less significant, but a real fact. However, quite surprisingly, it’s in the music’s power to do the same. Music can be uplifting and vigorous or quite the other way round moody and sombre. But despite the difference in music styles all the music lovers are united by the delight in music they take.

Unfortunately, the music industry in Belarus is not developed at all. I reject the idea we have no talented musicians, I choose to believe that’s all about Russian music industry that affects us. But the fact lingers the same: there are no talented musicians in Belarus, or at least the remain unknown for some reasons.

Setting up musical festivals could be a clue to this problem. But it hasn’t been the case for our country in previous years. The Slavonic bazar is a music festival held annually in Vitebsk. It attracts a few competitors from the abroad, besides it’s broadcast by several TV channels which is a great virtue for both Vitebsk and our music industry. But despite the 20-year history of the festival, there hasn’t been any appreciable boost to the music in Belarus. Never the less it’s quite profitable that’s why, I believe, we can still observe this festival.

So music is a marvel. This is the source of sensation out of nothing. It should be preserved to keep all its variety and artistic value.  It appeals to the people's hearts and minds, to their feelings and ideals. Good music arouses a warm response in the souls of listeners. Music is magnificent.
