Let me introduce myself to you. I am Olexandr Ivanovych Petrenko. It’s my full name. Petrenko is my surname. Olexandr is my first name. Ivanovych is my patronymic. I’m nearly eighteen. I was born in 1982 in Shostka, Sumy region. I am just out of school. Now  I am a first year student of Sumy National Agrarian University. My future profession is an engineer-technologist of food processing industry (livestock specialist).

Our family is neither large nor small. I am not the only child in the family. My parents have two more children besides me. Thus I have got an elder brother and a younger sister. My sister Helen is a pupil of the tenth form. She is two years my junior. Helen is rather tall and slender. She is a blue-eyed, fair-haired girl. My sister is a very sociable and honest young person. She is fond of music and dancing.

My brother, whose name is Michael, is eight years my senior. He is twenty six. He is a computer programmer, very efficient and professional. He is married and has his own family. They are four in the family. He has a wife and two children – a son and a daughter. His wife’s name is Valentyna. She is a teacher. She is not very tall. My sister-in-law is a very smart and intelligent woman, always well-dressed. She is energetic and industrious, with a sense of humour. My niece Masha and my nephew Sashko are still very little. They are pretty children and I like to play with them.

My parents are not old at all. Father is forty five, mother is three years his junior. My father is a bread-maker in our family. He runs a private firm. My father is a very sociable person.

I take after him. Football is his hobby. My mum is a good-looking woman. She is an experienced economist. She is fond of gardening very much.

My grandparents live in the country. They are pensioners. We often visit them.

I have both aunts and uncles. They live in different places. We are always glad to see each other.
