Engineering Labels for Cables. Introduction to Labels. Information Carried on Labels. Affixing Labels to the Signal Cable, страница 8

2.  Example

Figure D-13 shows the label on the optical fiber between the device and the ODF.

Figure D-13 Example of the label on the optical fiber between the device and the ODF

“ODF-G01-01-01-R” indicates that the local end of the optical fiber is connected with the optical receiving terminal on Row 01, Column 01 of the ODF in Row G Column 01 in the equipment room.

“A01-01-05-05-R” indicates that the opposite end of the optical fiber is connected with Optical Receiving Interface 5 in Slot 05, Subrack 01 in the cabinet on Row A, Column 01 in the equipment room.

D.5.6  Labels for Clock Cable

Clock cables consist of 120W-to-75W clock transit cable and external synchronization timing cable.

Clock cables are generally transferred by the digital distribution frame (DDF), so this section intends for the labels that connect the device to the DDF. Labels are affixed at both ends of the cables, indicating the positions on the device and DDF to which the cables are connected.

1.  Meaning of the Label

Table D-7 shows the information on the labels affixed to clock labels.

Table D-7 Information on the labels affixed to clock cables

Content

Meaning

Example

MN-B-C-D-R/T

MN: Cabinet number

For example, A01

B: Subrack number

Numbered from the bottom up with two digits, for example, 01

C: Physical slot number

Numbered from the top down and from the left to right with two digits, for example, 01

D: Cable number

Numbered from the top down and from the left to right with two digits, for example, 05

R: Receiving interface

T: Transmitting interface

DDF-MN-B-C-D/R/T

MN: Row number and Column number of the DDF

M: The cabinets going from front to back (in a row) in the equipment room are numbered from A to Z.

N: The cabinets going from left to right (in a column) are numbered from 01 to 99.

For example, G01 is the DDF at Row G and Column 01.

B: Row No. of the terminal

Range from 01 to 99. For example, 01-01

C: Column No. of the terminal

DDF-MN-B-C-D/R/T

D: A/B direction

R: Receiving interface

T: Transmitting interface

Generally this mark exists on the DDF.

A: Indicates that the DDF terminals are connected to the optical network equipment.

B: Indicates that the DDF terminals are connected to the switching equipment.

2.  Example

Figure D-14 shows a label affixed to clock cable.

Figure D-14 Example of a label for clock cable

“A01-03-01-01-R” indicates that the local end of the clock cable is connected with the receiving end of Clock Cable 1 in Slot 01, Subrack 03 in the cabinet on Row A, Column 01 in the equipment room.

“DDF-G01-01-01-AR” indicates that the opposite end of the clock cable is connected to the receiving end of the A-direction terminal (that is, connects with the optical network equipment) at Row 01, Column 01 in the DDF at Row G, Column 01 in the equipment room.
