3.  Service Slot Configuration when Configured with the EXCH Board

Figure 5-2 shows the maximum access capacity of each IU slot when the equipment cross-connect capacity is configured as 720 G (that is, configured with the EXCH board).

5.1.2  Equipment Type Configuration

1.  Basic Principle

The configuration of the OptiX OSN 9500 should follow the principles below:

n  It should be noted that, on the one hand, the total number of slots is fixed; on the other hand, the access capacities of respective interface board slots are different. Do the configuration flexibly to make full use of the slot resource.

n  When using interface boards with multiple optical interfaces (For example, JO16/JH41/JLH1) in MS networking, four MSP rings can be constructed at most.

n  As the OptiX OSN 9500 equipment plays an essential role in the communication network, some key boards (for example, GXCH/EXCH/JSTG/JSCC) should be hot backed up for protection.

2.  Resource List

Table 5-6 shows an equipment configuration list for the OptiX OSN 9500. For cabinets of 2200 mm and 2600 mm height, two OptiX OSN 9500 subracks can be housed.
