THE MAIN BEARINGS DATA
Rolling bearings are classified according to the following main features:
– the direction of carried load relatively to the shaft axis (deep groove ball bearings,cylindrical, spherical bearings, thrust bearings);
– the number of rolling elements rows (singlerow, doublerow, fourrow);
– the ability for selfalignment in a support (bearings with shields, bearings withseals);
– the method of bearing mounting in the support (with snap groove in outer ring,with outer ring flange, with adapter sleeves).
Together with bearings of standard design the plant produces a large number of bearings of special design, the usage of which by the customer in every certain case requires the consultation with the supplier.
The Russian system of bearing designations is based on the following features:
– inner diameter of bearing;
– diameter and width series or height series;– type of bearing; – design variety.
All these parameters are designated by figures. The largest number of figures in the main part of bearing designation may be seven. The last number of figures is two. The order of figures counting in bearing designation runs from the right to the left. Symbols arrangement of bearing designation must be in correspondence with the scheme:
ХХ ХQuotient from inner diameter
value division d into 5,
Width Design Type Diameter if d=20… 495 mm. series variety of bearing series
Bearings with inner diameter more than 495 mm are designated by fraction, where the denominator is the dimension of inner diameter, figures of the numerator are dimension series, type and design features in adopted for all bearings order, keeping in mind that two figures of the designation are already used. The fourth figure from the right represents the bearing type (according to table1).

Code letters and figures additional to the basic designation are used to distinguish bearings which differ from standard or have modified components.
A figure with a dash before the basic designation indicates tolerance class of a bearing. Radial clearance group and friction torque row are given before tolerance class. The symbols for designation of normal radial clearance group and normal toler ance class are usually omitted.
The values of supplementary signs additional to the basic designation are given in tables 2, 3.
