Welcome to the Tasmanian Traders database! The Tasmanian Traders database stores information about customers, orders, shippers, suppliers, employees, and products.

Depending on your user leveltasUserLevel, you have access to different tables. You can view, remove, modify, and add new records to the tables. The commands on the OrderstasOrders and AdministrationtasAdministration menus make it easy to access different forms for viewing and modifying data. For example, you can choose Order Entry from the Orders menu to make a new order or to modify an existing one.

If you need help when you are using the Order Entry form, click the Help button to display the Order Entry formtasOrderEntry topic.


# user level

When you log in, your user level is identified as one of the following:     

·  Customer Service Representative

·  Operations Manager

·  Sales Manager

·  Application Developer

The Login dialog box is displayed when you run Tasmanian Traders and when you choose Login from the Administration menu.

You can also use the Login dialog box to view information about different employees. When you select a name from the Name box, the dialog box displays the employee's title, user level, and photo.

# How To Log In

1. From the Administration menu, choose Login.

2. In the Name box, type your name or select it from the drop-down list.

3. In the Password box, type your password.*

4. Click OK.

* The password is displayed in the Hint box in this sample application.

Use the Order Entry form to order Tasmanian Traders products for customers. To display the Order Entry form, choose Order Entry from the Orders menu.

# How To Make An Order

1. From the Orders menu, choose Order Entry.

2. In the Customer box, type the customer's ID or select it from the drop-down list.

3. Fill in the appropriate information in the Product, Quantity, Unit Price, and Extensions columns.

4. In the Delivery Information box, select the customer's preferred method of shipment.

5. In the Due By box, enter the date by which the customer wants to receive the delivery.

6. If there are any special requirements, enter a comment in the Notes box.


# Customer

Type or select a customer's name in this box. When a valid name is specified, the customer's address and other information are displayed in the boxes beneath this one.


# Shipping Address

The customer's shipping address, city, region, postal code, and country appear in this box when a customer's name is specified in the Customer box.


# Order #

An order number is automatically generated and displayed in this box when you make a new order.


# Order Date

The date of the order is displayed in this box.


# Delivery Information

Select the customer's preferred method of shipment from this box.


# Due By

Enter the date by which the customer wants to receive the delivery
