The industrial progress of mankind is based on power. Industrial plants, machines, heating and lighting systems, communications need power. In fact, power is required in all the spheres of life.
At present most of the power is obtained mainly from two sources. One is from the burning of coal, gas and oil. The second one is by means of generators that get their power from steam or water turbines. Electricity so produced is then run through transmission lines
