students to comment on each reason and explain why they have distributed awards in such a way.

o  To compare the reasons of the students on the screen and their ones.

o  Finally look at “TOP 10 reasons” at the blackboard and discuss whether the rating needs any changing after watching video. Students work with the table once again and either change it or leave unchanged proving their decisions in both the cases.

1.  In every joke there is a grain of truth

A.

An economist is someone who doesn't know what he's talking about - and make you feel it's your fault.

Q. What does an economist do?

A. A lot in the short run, which amounts to nothing in the long run.

They say that Christopher Columbus was the first economist. When he left to discover America, he didn't know where he was going. When he got there he didn't know where he was. And it was all done on a government grant.

An economist is someone who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.

Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, a practical economist, and an old drunk are walking down the street together when they simultaneously spot a hundred dollar bill. Who gets it? The old drunk, of course, the other three are mythological creatures.

An economist is someone who gets rich explaining others why they are poor.

-Why won't sharks attack economists?

-Professional courtesy.

B.

TOP 8 REASONS TO STUDY ECONOMICS

1. Economists are armed and dangerous: "Watch out for our invisible hands."

2. Economists can supply it on demand.

3. You can talk about money without ever having to make any.

5. When you are in the unemployment line, at least you will know why you are there.

6. If you rearrange the letters in "ECONOMICS", you get "COMIC NOSE".

7. Although ethics teaches that virtue is its own reward, in economics we get taught that reward is its own virtue.

8. An economist is an expert who will know tomorrow why the things he predicted yesterday didn't happen today.

2.  A website catching sight.

·  Divide the students into pairs. Give one copy of the working page to each pair.

·  Ask the students to imagine that there has been announced a contest for creating the best website of the School of Finance and Banking.

·  Tell the students that in pairs they are going to come up with idea of their School site, its front page precisely. In order to ease the task the students should take the front page of an analogous site( the site Australian School of Business) as a guide for their further work.

·  In order to fulfill the task successfully the students should follow the following requirements about their site. The site is supposed to be

§  Catchy

§  Informative

§  Original

§  Practical

§  Clear

·  After about 10 minutes ask the students to present and discuss their ideas with partners. While discussing the ideas ask students the following questions:

§  Do you think it’s necessary for a school of the university to have its webpage or website? Prove your answers with arguments.

§  What is the main purpose of your website/page?

§  Who is the target audience of your website/page?

§  What makes your site special, different from other ones of the kind?

§  How will you let people know about your site?

§  Will you use advertising in your site?

·  After the discussion ask the students to vote for the best idea and reward the winners.

3.  It needs promotion to be put in motion

·  Before presenting a video write the words

Adjacent, finance, campus, enthusiasm, vital, intellectual agility
