Ex.1. Form the Present Continuous Tense of the verbs given below; use the pronouns in brackets as subjects of your short sentences.

work (he), listen to (I), improve (they), wait (she), get ready (we), tell (she), show (he).

Ex.2. Put the following affirmative sentences into the interrogative and negative forms according to the model.

Model: Helen is listening to the radio now. — Is Helen listening to the radio now? - Helen isn't listening to .the radio now.

1. The students are getting ready for the seminar. 2. Andrew and his friends are listening to the lecturer with deep interest. 3. Mary and her sister are having breakfast now. 4. She is mastering her English in the language laboratory. 5. We are taking the notes of the lecture on economics now. 6. His brother is reading a book. 7. Their parents are watching a TV program.

Ex.3. Make the following sentences affirmative.

1. Helen isn't working at the library. 2. Are the students listening to the taped lesson? 3. The lecturer isn't telling the students about the latest research data in economics. 4. She isn't preparing for the exams. 5. Their friends are watching TV, aren't they? 6. Are you mastering your English now? 7. His son isn't listening to the music.

Laboratory Work

Ex.1. Respond according to the model.

Model: We are taking the notes of the lecture. And Harry? (watch TV) - Harry is watching TV.

1. The students of our group are improving their pronunciation in the language laboratory. And Andrew? (have dinner) 2. She is working hard in the library. And her sister? (read a book) 3. The lecturer is telling the students the latest data in tourism business. And the students? (to take the notes of the lecture) 4. The teacher is showing the experiments to the students. Model B: Are they having dinner now? - No, they are not (aren't)

Ex.3. Ask questions according to the model.

Model A: My friend's son is watching TV now (your friend's daughter). - Is your friend's daughter watching TV too?
