          Основной целью предлагаемой работы является развитие у студентов навыков устной речи для бытового общения в пределах предложенной тема-тики. Учебно-методическая разработка включает разделы “About  myself”, “Our University”, “Novokuznetsk”.

          Предназначена для студентов первого курса, изучающих английский язык.

ПРЕДИСЛОВИЕ

 Данная работа предназначена для студентов первого курса СибГИУ, изучающих английский язык и составлена в соответствии с требованиями Программы по английскому языку для неязыковых специальностей высших учебных заведений. Цель работы  –  развитие у студентов навыков устной речи в пределах предложенной тематики. Она включает разделы: “About  myself”, “Our University”, “Novokuz-netsk”.

Учебный материал данной работы разработан с учетом прин-ципов коммуникативной направленности с применением разнооб-разных  упражнений и заданий. Многие задания давно и широко применяются в педагогической практике и вполне себя оправдали. Но важно помнить, что изучение иностранного языка без иноязычного окружения – всегда процесс искусственный. Для имитации естественной ситуации требуются усилия. Мобилизуйте свое воображение и свою активность. Помните: овладение языком – это труд. Только ваша активная деятельность поможет вам добиться положительных результатов.

ABOUT   MYSELF

My name is Kirill Pavlov. This year I’ve left school and now I’m happy to be in my first year at Siberian State Industrial University. When you leave school you understand that the time to choose your future profession has come. It’s not an easy task to make the right choice of a job. I have known for a long time that leaving school is the beginning of my independent life, the beginning of a far more serious examination of my abilities and character. I have asked myself a lot of times “What do I want to be when I leave school?” A few years ago it was difficult to give a definite answer. As the years passed I changed my mind many times about which science or field of industry to specialize in. It was difficult to make up my mind and choose one of many jobs to which I am cut out for. Now I have already decided what to do.  As I’ve been interested in computers, electronic devices, their adjustment and repair since my school years  I’d like to specialize in industrial electronics. Two months ago I managed to pass my entrance examinations well and become a student of the Faculty of Automation, Computer Science and Electromechanics.

I like studying at University because we have interesting subjects, highly qualified teachers and my group is friendly. Little time has passed since the beginning of the term and it’s difficult to say what subjects I am good at. I like computer science and mathematics very much. Besides, we study chemistry, physics, drawing. In our first year we take the fundamentals of our future speciality but special subjects are studied two years later. The students of my group study English. I should say that learning a foreign language is not an easy thing. It is a long and slow process that takes a lot of time and patience. But to know English today is absolutely necessary for every educated person, for every good specialist. I’ll try to do my best to know English well because it’s the language of progressive science and technologies.

I’d like to say some words about my daily activities. The classes at University begin at 8.30. On weekdays I usually get up at 7 o’clock, take a warm shower, clean
